Each academic division or administrative unit has an assigned librarian who is responsible for facilitating communication and responding to the unit's needs for library materials and services. Collection Development

Liaison librarians work with faculty to build and maintain Herrick's collections in assigned subject areas. Purchase decisions are guided by Herrick's Library Collection Guidelines. Faculty recommendations are encouraged and welcomed. Contact your liaison librarian to make requests or use the Recommend and Item for Purchase Form.

Research and Reference Services

Your liaison librarian can provide specialized reference services, including:

    • assistance with database searching

faculty

  • non-routine, in depth, subject-related research questions
  • referrals to additional resources or information providers
  • establishing library support for new courses or programs
